Although time has passed,
Glancing through these memories,
I can see the pain has lasted.
It tears and claws,
Does not desist,
Though I can tell you've not resisted.
For long seasons,
You've sat and waited,
Expecting little and trying not,
But I can tell that you still hoped that wasn't it.
There were times of sadness
And times of serenity.
But nothing more and nothing less,
Any more and you wouldn't last.
But still it was there
A hope for more,
And I can see a hope restored.
Somehow, someday, I hope and pray,
That you will find what you seek
And live a life with this hope renewed.
